We had a fabulous week at the cottage, although the weather was not too kind to us!
The Welcome Hamper was a lovely touch as was the yummy cream tea set out for our arrival.
We would certainly like to make a return visit, at some time.
In the words of Craig Revel Horwood it was “Fab-u-lous”!

When we arrived at Railway Cottage we were delighted to find a well stocked welcome hamper left for us by Gill and Phil (loved the homemade scones Gill) The cottage was very clean and well presented and Gill, the owner, has thought of everything you need from soap in the bathrooms to every kitchen utensil you would require. We had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely return to this very special cottage.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful rural surroundings and absolutely amazing hosts. Lots of places to visit and the location is perfect for walking and cycling. Can recommend The Sycamore pub for good food at low prices but you need to be hungry!!! Thank you Gill and Phil for a wonderful week.

Lovely little cottage in a fantastic location right on the Peak Trail. Very friendly owners who provide a hamper with bits to get started, including the best homemade scones you will find anywhere. We found it perfect for walks along the Peak trail, straight from the cottage, and very central for lots of other walks and attractions (Chatsworth House etc). We will certainly be going back as we love the Peak District and this was in the perfect location.

We Really enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it’s well equipped, comfy, lovely fittings throughout and everything worked as it should, also we took our little dog which is a lovely bonus.
The patio area is a real suntrap and you get lovely sunsets, the hosts (Gill and Phil) couldn’t do enough to make our stay really special, with a lovely hamper and even bought us some reclining chairs for the patio.
If you like walking /biking there’s loads of places near and just outside the gate is a trail (was the old railway line). There’s loads of info/books about local history and places of interest and pubs/restaurants at the cottage too. We look forward to returning soon.

Really excellent hosts were Gill and Phil. The best welcome pack we have had in a rental cottage. The cottage and it’s facilities left nothing wanting. All fittings were of a high standard and it was spotlessly clean. A well equipped kitchen plus good beds and en suite showers, it is ideal for two couples or a young family. Well situated on the edge of the National Park and alongside the High Peak trail , perfect for walking or biking. Close to Dovedale, Ashbourne and Bakewell. Despite the bad weather the four of us had a lovely break.
